Wow what a beautiful day! About freezing temps with frozen precipitation moving in. Not suppose to be much accumulation. River remains low and clear, steady rain on Saturday but not much. We got some much needed rain. Ground soaked it right up. River looks good. I will be on the water next several days. I kinda thought the bite would be tough after the rain on Thursday, but dang I gotta say my little olive woolly was hot today. Browns, smallies, bows, Goggle eye, sunfish, grass pickerel and no telling what else that got off. A great day! We need more rain!

I have been out everyday lately and we have been having a lot of fun. Catching them on olives on good days, y2ks on the tougher days. The leaves are just about over! Windy days can be a mess. Need rain!

We got out this morning about 8am and I think they may have been working on the hatchery. Water levels had dropped 2 ft from the day before, lol hard way to get down and already a low river. River is getting to low for a drift boat, using my Nrs slipstream raft does the trick. We had to weave around the boulders, but made out just fine. It rained hard for a bit on Saturday evening into the night. Less than 2 inches here. River was stained a bit this morning making for tougher fishing. A y2k on bottom did the trick. I guess its official, Agfc has made a post that there will be special restrictions on the trout fishers in Arkansas due to the hatchery flooding and issues with federal hatcheries. The Spring River has not been stocked since April before the flood. There are still fish in the river but it would be a good time for cstch and release at least until stocking resumes and they get to big for the river.
