Low and clear

It has rained a little bit this morning, but today we had a great day fishing in the drizzle, looking for walleye, caught a bunch of smallies and trout, no walleye. Perfect day for fishing! It was a wet mess out there and the fish were loving it!

Still need the rain, I floated to Cedar Valley Resort today and it was tough getting down in my raft. No prob in a canoe or kayak, but it has been awhile since I had a drift boat out. River is too low. We need a good long rain.

The smallies are so much fun, my July and August months are wide open for chasing smallies. We are using 6wts with sink tips and floating line. Bigger heavy flies are the trick. Ya have to get down to them!
