Too low and clear

The river is getting low. Its actually at about avg flow 350cfs. The lower water and clear clarity has the fish hard to catch some days. On the good days ya see the fish coming then the hard hit. A good day set up is a weight forward 5 wt with a bead head woolly. A cast across stream with a swing down stream and a short fast strip back at the tail out. They will chase it down and attack! On the sunny slow days a y2k with a small dropper will get fish. Hot pink trout magnets are hot suspended just off the bottom.

We could use some rain. All of the rain over the last month has just been to the east of the area. Lower water levels equals easier wading, always be careful wading the Spring River! It is very slick out there. Felt or steel studs and a wading staff can be a life saver wading.
