Wow it has been a hot spell! The river is flowing at normal levels, thanks to all the rain in the spring time, and water clarity is getting to clear.
The clear water and hot conditions has us fishing early. Lately down sizing to nymphing on the bottom has worked well.
Thankfully there is a lot of rain in the forecast this weekend hopefully not a wash out but some nice cool rain would be nice.
Had a great smallie trip last week I forgot to post pics of. It was a hard trip getting over waterfalls but good catching. I had a trout trip Saturday morning ahead of the canoe hatch. Started at 7 am and by 11am the crowd was on us. Slow bite that day with y2k bringing in some rainbows.
We get a lot of rain it should help to get the trout biting better but these are good conditions for smallies.
The big fish in video is a Drum, we always hit something crazy on the smallie trip.
