No rain here

Over the weekend there was a chance of rain but it did not happen. The river is very low and clear. The low clear conditions makes for tough fishing some days and others great dry fly, nymphing catching kinda fishing. I personally do not like the clear conditions, but the family of eagles on the river are really enjoying it. Not good.

Having a great time this weekend with a very good friend trying to catch walleye. I do not guide for walleye on the Spring River. What we try to do is fish for them with little success. We have tried it all, and I know there are plenty of big walleye in the river. And they also enjoy eating trout. I like to go to Fred's Fish House on main Street in Mammoth! They serve walleye that tastes delicious, after a long day of trying to catch them....

We did catch a few very nice brown trout. Had to take some extra time on the release. Don't throw them back, make sure they swim out of the net to fight another day. Honestly they will keep getting bigger!
