New boat

I bought a low pro hyde drift boat from Leslie and I like it! I have been guiding in a Montana skiff for over 15 years, it floats flat and does well in shallow waters. The low pro, has more of a curved bottom to help getting over rocks and waterfalls.

I had a guide trip today but we cancelled due to a strong wind blowing from many directions. I went ahead and tested out the new boat, name to soon follow, on my wonderful river. Handles much better than my skiff. Best technique today was fishing deep below an indicator. I fished a sink tip a lot for no good reason today on my bamboo smallie rod, caught one bass. They didn't want it like the dead drift. Sparkle minnow caught me several bass and trout below a float. I bought a 11ft 6wt fly rod, once again for no good reason. Heck the wind blew it around it was so long. Wore me out.. They were tough with that dang wind and them hugging the bottom of the river. Windy all week..

May also see me out in our new NRS slipstream guide raft. It will be my smallie chaser this summer!
