Rained hard this morning in town. Little over a 1/4 inch. It did murk up the rivers for a bit from runoff in places but the Spring and warm fork stayed clear.
Last few trips have been great with good numbers but it has been hard to get a big fish to the boat over the last week. El diablos, the fly, and nymphs have been doing great for numbers of fish but the streamer action has been slow for us. Overcast days have been the best days for catching. We are all ready for summer to be over and cool temps. It's just around the corner.
We have been going after smallmouth and honestly it has been slow on the bite. Plenty of smaller smallmouth and panfish. Biggest smallie I have seen lately was just down from dam 3 in front of Spring River Landing. Check out their website. Gonna be an awesome place, springriverlanding.com
On Sunday of last week I had the pleasure of floating with a gentleman from Spain, with his friend. We tried hard to catch fish on dry flies all day with hoppers. We did have some hits and one massive explosion the was promptly broke of with a powerful hook set. All that I can say is we tried. Dry flies were not working that day...
I got out with Shawn on Tuesday and we did land 1 nice brown.
