Low water!

We got out this morning about 8am and I think they may have been working on the hatchery. Water levels had dropped 2 ft from the day before, lol hard way to get down and already a low river. River is getting to low for a drift boat, using my Nrs slipstream raft does the trick. We had to weave around the boulders, but made out just fine. Ya can't turn off the Spring River, so flow was back to normal by about 10am. No they did not bite well with the low water. They were biting fine, but had to get down on the bottom. Hopper droppers, with 2 savage hits on the hopper today, so much fun! A great day but we had to work for them. I did not realize that Memphis had so much rain recently. We have not! River is low and clear. Great time for fishing dry droppers, its getting that clear. Plop one of my favorite olive woollies on a pool and ya can see them scatter. If bright sunny day. Still throwing woollies on cloudy days, today is a good example of when you will always catch something good on a woolly! These 2 smallies were caught on woollies. I gotta say the woolly bite was tough, far easier to get a bite staying on bottom with droppers. Nymphs, pink worms, or y2k, hard to go wrong...
