River looks great, it is getting low, at 310 cfs and water clarity is clear. The last big canoe hatch was last weekend and that season will come to a close at the end of September. I love the fall and winter season! It is the time to chase big trout on the Spring River. Right now is a great time to learn with the heavy stocking of rainbows thru the summer, but that also makes it hard to get bigger fish. Jim Hinkle stocks the Spring River year round, during the fall and winter stocking numbers are reduced and not as many places on the river are stocked. Riverside Resort does remain open thru the winter and is stocked year round. Smallies also bite great thru the winter on the trout stretch.
I floated with my wife and dad on Monday and we had a blast, not many people on the water, they were loading up and headed home. Amanda did not fish, just dad and we wore them out with a pink worm. Nonstop action!
