Hot out...

The river is getting down close to avg flows. Lowest of the year. Catching has been good from y2ks some days, small nymphs on others. If its overcast woolly buggers in olive are hard to beat. Get the fly down if its sunny and swing it. If its cloudy out, swing the fly and strip it back at the end.

I did my first smallmouth guide trip today. We caught 13 smallies and several trout. And it did get hot out today. We had to sit down in the river after lunch to keep from overheating. We only caught 1 bass on a olive woollie the others were caught on a pink fly I have been working on and a sparkle minnow. A hot but fun day.
