Great weather!

The river is looking so good right now. We could use some rain but it will rain soon enough. The cool weather adds up to big trout moving. The colder the better to get a big Ole trout up and feeding. The hatchery is stocking weekly and construction continues on the silos. Gonna be awesome when it's done. Hopefully this winter. The lack of rain in awhile has the river very clear. Hopper droppers have been hot with a El Diablo or white lightning as the dropper. Y2ks have been hot most days but have had a few days the trout did not want it. On the can't get a bite days, nymphs are usually the food choice.
We are still catching smallies with the warm afternoons. Hopper dropper with white lightning again. Or streamers, like skull heads and crayfish patterns. I really like eye lash minnow patterns for the flash.
We have plenty of openings with the guys. They are ready to go. I have a few openings in November, and plenty in December for chasing big trout. And January and February can be some of my favorite times to chase browns!
