The Spring is flowing at 560 cfs, 350 avg, and water clarity has been poor depending on rain amounts thru the week. Plenty of rain lately has the river up and murky at times. Always check our blog for latest fishing conditions on the Spring River. Our blog page is on the website!

The catch has been good with sink tips or split shot to help get the fly down. Lots of bug hatches on the sunny days has made nymphing productivemost days. Just takes a little more weight to get down. Few browns caught lately but mainly good rainbows and smallmouth. Grandma's brownies and Cracklebacks have been hot for my guide trips with a sink tip or spit shot. And if no luck go to a y2k with nymph dropper for the days they are not biting.

The smallmouth have been hitting lately on deep slow presentations. Sink tips with snag free flies work well. Minnow and sculpins patterns are the fave, with crawfish patterns working well too somedays.  Got to get it down!

With river levels up be safe wading, a wading staff can save a life. The Spring River has a very slick river bottom that is hard to wade normally, be careful. With the public areas getting a lot of pressure, places like Riverside Resort that is open thru the winter can offer better wading and less pressure. April 1st all of the campgrounds will open providing more accesses. And stocking will increase thru March getting ready for the summer season.

Water has been up but that has not slowed us down from catching fish and having fun!
