Canoe hatch...

We snuck out early on Saturday and got a early morning float trip in. The bite was great on y2ks. Trout didnt seem to want anything else. It was a really nice quiet morning. We got off the water by noon and it was very peaceful. I really doubt it stayed that way. Holiday weekends are a big party on the Spring River.

Next weeks looks like cool temps and fall like weather on the way. The river is low and clear. It is almost at avg flows for the first time since last year. There has been a lot of vegetation in the river. Cool temps coming should clear that up.

This will be the last big float the river weekend for the party crowd. Starting in October we will start guiding again on Saturdays. From the end of September to the first of April the river becomes an exclusive fishing paradise. Canoe rentals shut down for the winter and the cold temps gets the big trout on the move. My personal favorite time of year. Not as high numbers because of less stocking but honestly I like catching those big fish in the Spring River....
