I finally got back on the water on Wednesday and the river remains low and clear. I did not have to much trouble floating to Cedar Valley Resort take out down by Saddler Falls. The river is lower than I have ever seen it. Very thankful for my NRS raft that has been fantastic in this low water. Cooper falls does not have an easy pass now, really nice just going over in the raft. I will not be using my drift boats until we get a lot of rain. Creeks have gone dry...
Catching was easy with nymphs, caddis and mayflies were hatching thru out the day. I have been working on some new patterns for smallmouth and crazy how good the fly worked on Rock bass, I am trying to imitate a ned rig/worm with a fly. Caught several smallies on it to. Dead of winter is when I come up with great fly patterns. And yes 1 smallie on a y2k, it happens. I'm booked this weekend, April and May are booking up. No deposit to book. Just gotta get on my calendar to reserve a day of priceless memories.
