In 1982 there was an historic flood on the Spring River that wiped out the Hatchery on the river. The State of Arkansas began using the hatchery from that time to now. Over the weekend a historic flood that was not as high as 1982 but was higher than the flood of 2017, surged thru the Warm Fork of the Spring River from heavy rains north of Mammoth Spring. Still not sure how high the flash flood got up to. It did take the train tracks out in a lot of places. With a trestle in town getting destroyed.

Recovery began Saturday morning with BNSF railroad. They are getting it fixed right away. Be careful coming into area, with work crews, it is only along the river that has damage. Be careful of washed out back roads down to the river.

We are not sure how bad the hatchery is damaged. It does appear it was under water during the night on friday night. The river is back down and everyone is trying to figure things out. I will keep everyone posted!
